Daycare Registration Process

The general process for parents looking for a spot in a licensed daycare in Regina:
  1. Use the Provincial Search Tool: The main resource is the Government of Saskatchewan's online map of regulated child care facilities. This tool allows you to search for licensed centers and home daycares by location and filter by the type of care you need (e.g., infant care, group homes, etc.).
  2. Utilize the 211 Saskatchewan "Parent Central" Registry: You can create an account on the 211 Saskatchewan Child Care Search portal. This functions as a "wishlist" where you can select the daycares you are interested in. The system will then notify those providers of your interest, and they will contact you to discuss availability.
  3. Contact Daycares Directly: Many child care facilities, especially those with high demand, maintain their own individual waiting lists. It is highly recommended that you contact multiple daycares directly to inquire about their application process and to get your child's name on their specific waitlists. It's often suggested to get on these lists as early as possible, even during pregnancy, due to lengthy wait times.

Enrollment

Families are welcome to visit with an appointment before enrolling their child. This allows parents and children to meet the provider, see the environment, and ask any questions. To ensure an easy transition for both parent and child, I offer a gradual entry process, where the child's time at the center is gradually increased over a few days.
